Who can go to heaven?

How can I get to heaven? How do I know whether I have done enough to earn a place in heaven? Have I done too many bad things to be able to go there? People in prison have asked me these questions many times.

Some people believe that there are limited spots in heaven and only the best people can go there. This is not true.

The Bible says in many places that anyone who believes that Jesus Christ is God and died for the forgiveness of sins will go to be with Him in heaven one day.

You can read in the book of Luke chapter 23 verses 32 to 43, where a thief nailed to a cross next to Jesus believed in Him in his dying moments and Jesus told the thief that they would soon be together in paradise – heaven.

One of the Bible's most famous verses from John chapter 3 verse 16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son Jesus, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have everlasting life."

Again in Romans 10, verses 9 to 13, it says, "If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. As Scripture says, 'Anyone who believes in Him will never be put to shame.' For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile – the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, 'Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"

So if you put into action what these Bible verses say, you will be saved from God's judgment. Put your trust in Jesus, He loves you no matter who you are or what you have done.
