Ask and receive

As another Christmas and New Year crawls around the corner, we are reminded to take time to reflect on the year that has passed and the future that lies before us.

A new year gives us a fresh start but sometimes it is hard to know where to begin and how to make the changes we want in our lives. God says in His Word, the Bible that He is waiting patiently for us to turn to Him and ask for His wisdom, peace and blessings.

In the book of Matthew chapter 7 verse 7 to 11, Jesus said, "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him?"

Are you a child of God? If you have given your life over to Jesus as your Lord and Savior, the Bible says that God is your Heavenly Father who wants to bless your life with the Holy Spirit, peace, love, joy and a hope of eternal life. These are the best gifts you can receive as you begin this New Year because His gifts always strengthen us during difficult times.

Maybe you have worries in your life? Maybe you are wondering what the New Year holds for you?

The Bible says in Philippians chapter 4 verses 6 and 7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Call out to our Heavenly Father and ask for the things you need. No matter who you are or what you have done, He is waiting to give you peace with Him and peace in any circumstance.
