Anger no longer controls

Margaret Selemani
Margaret Selemani was healed after a housemaid cursed her using witchcraft.

Anger and a short temper troubled Margaret Selemani until her 20s.

She clearly remembers a day she nearly killed a friend in her anger. “We used to do everything together, Margaret recalls. “We were playing on the sand when we ended up fighting and I buried her into the sand.

“Fortunately she was rescued quickly, had it been that she wasn’t rescued immediately she could have lost her life.

“I thank God that He saved me from this evil act.”

Margaret explains that her life began to change, “because I was associating with Christians who dedicated their lives to obeying God’s Word.”

As she attended church for many years, Margaret says, “I accumulated a lot of faith in God.” Margaret quotes a verse that she says “touches my soul whenever I read it.”

“Seek the Lord while He may found call upon Him while He is near,” Margaret quotes from Isaiah 55, verse 6-7. “Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts, let him turn to the Lord that He may have mercy on him, and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.”

Since trusting in Jesus as Lord and Saviour, Margaret says, “Now I live peacefully with different people. There is no anger tormenting me. “The Bible says, ‘It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand fast therefore and do not submit again to the yoke of slavery’ (Galatians 5, verse 1).

She adds, “I never think of going back to my past life. Although I have been tempted to be unfaithful, because God is working in me I overcome the temptation by trusting His Word.

“The Bible is my spiritual weapon against temptation, I use it all times. Sharing the good news of Jesus in our women’s fellowships also help in times of temptation.”

Some time ago Margaret remembers a housemaid tried to harm her through witchcraft, however God protected her.

“This woman confessed that she wanted to kill me using witchcraft. I was admitted to hospital, coughing and in pain, but she said she saw a huge fire covering me and that is why she failed to take my life.”

After doctors failed to identify a disease Margaret was suffering from she says, “a man of God prayed for me and I became instantly well.

“Further tests came back negative. I prayed to God and I thanked Him that He healed me.

“Everything is possible through faith in Jesus Christ. He is The Way, The Truth and The Life (see John 14, verse 6).”
