My life has never been the same

Freddy Tamgulani
Freddy Tamgulani experienced joy and conviction after he turned over his life to Jesus.

Netshisaulu Tamgulani, known as Freddy, came from a poor background but had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home.

From a young age he had a desire to know God but struggled with doing wrong things. "I battled most with issues like immorality, jealousy and unforgiveness," Freddy acknowledges.

Because Freddy came from a Christian home, he was familiar with the Bible and remembered that even the Apostle Paul struggled with sin. "He was a bad person, but God was able to change his heart. I felt that God was saying to me that one day I would be changed like Paul," he recalls.

"My parents first encouraged me to search for God and as I grew up other people also encouraged me to seek after God. Some of these friends invited me to attend a conference that was near my village. It was during the last service of the conference that I became a Christian," says Freddy.

Freddy acknowledges that there were two main reasons why he became a Christian. "Firstly I felt drawn by the love of God and secondly that I had a hunger to become a Christian. I prayed asking God for forgiveness for my sin and when I had finished praying I felt assured that God had forgiven me."

For Freddy life was never the same again.

A joy came into
my life that I
had not known
"A joy came into my life that I had not known. I began to pray that I would grow in my Christian life and that was coupled with a desire to share with and pray for those who did not know Jesus as their Saviour," says Freddy.

Freddy was convicted of things that needed to change in his life. "I was sexually involved with a girl and I realised I had to confess this sexual immortality to God. Also, some of my friendships had to change. I was encouraged in my new life with verses like John chapter 1 and verse 12 which says; 'But as many as received Him, to them he gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in his name.'

The other verse that helped Freddy was 2 Corinthians 5 verse 17 which says: 'Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold all things have become new.'

"I believed I was a new creation and the old had gone away from my life. People need to know that with God nothing is impossible," Freddy declares.
