You are still worth it

hundred dollar bill

An anonymous man shared a story online of how a simple $100 bill changed his entire perspective on life.

A couple of years ago, the man was in rehab struggling with alcohol addiction after his wife passed away. While there, a speaker at an AA meeting pulled out a $100 bill and said this:

"Take a $100. Now crumple & smash that $100 bill. Throw it on the ground and step on it, then pick it up and unfold it. Still $100, right? It still has the same value. Just like us. No matter what we've been through, we're still worth the same as before all the bad stuff. You're still worth it."

That simple analogy blew the man away. "It's easy for me to go dark, beat myself up, and feel worthless for things I may have done or not done in the past. I just wanted to share this, since it's been so helpful for me," he wrote. "Remember you are worth it no matter what you've been through."

As Jesus told his disciples: "Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows." (Matthew 10:29-31).
